SOP for Operation and Calibration of FTIR|SOP for IR|SOP for FTIR|Lab Solution

1.0 OBJECTIVE:

To lay down the procedure Operation and Calibration of the Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer (FTIR).

2.0 SCOPE:

This SOP is applicable for the operation and Calibration of Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer (FTIR) (Make: Shimadzu) with software LabSolution-IR in the Quality Control department.

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:

  1. Quality Control personnel is responsible to follow this procedure.

  2. Head QC/designee is responsible to ensure the implementation of this procedure.

4.0 PROCEDURE:

  1. PRECAUTIONS:

  1. Check that the instrument is connected to a stabilized power supply.

  2. Keep the sample chamber clean.

  3. Switch ON IR before 10 min of analysis.

  4. Do not close ATR tip while making background scan.

  5. Check silica regularly.

  6. After use off the instrument from switch provide to instrument not from main electric power supply.

5.0 INSTRUMENT CONFIGURATION:

  1. Instrument consists of ATR accessories & pellet sample holder.

  2. Fix the ATR accessories or pellet sample holder as per requirements.

  3. While using ATR accessories, check the proper connection with instrument.

  4. After successful connection, ATR accessory serial number will display green color status in software.

  5. Directly use sample powder or liquid in small amount for ATR accessory.

6.0 STARTING AND SHUTTING DOWN THE SYSTEM

  1. Turning the Power ON.

  1. Turn ON the main switch of the instrument.

  2. Turn ON power to the PC.



SOP for Operation and Calibration of Karl Fischer & Potentiometric Titrator (Dual Station)

1.0 OBJECTIVE :

To lay down the procedure for Operation and Calibration of Karl Fischer & Potentiometric Titrator (Dual Station).

Model : 905 Titrando.

2.0 SCOPE :

This SOP is applicable for the Operation and Calibration procedure for Karl Fischer & Potentiometric Titrator in the Quality Control department.

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY :

  1. Quality Control personnel is responsible to follow this procedure.
  2. Head QC/designee is responsible to ensure the implementation of this procedure.

​4.0 PROCEDURE :

4.1 Cleaning Procedure:

 

4.1.1

Ensure that the power supply to the instrument is switched off and main cord is removed from supply.

4.1.2

Clean the instrument with a clean dry cloth every day. A wet cloth dipped in dilute soap solution shall be used occasionally.

4.1.3

Precaution must be taken to clean the instrument immediately with dry cloth.

4.2 Precautions:

4.2.1

Always wear protective gloves, goggles and necessary PPEs during operation.

4.2.2

Always ensure no air passage is allowed. Instrument shall be used in closed environment and environmental contact shall produce erroneous results. 

4.2.3

Always decant the waste in plenty of running water, clean and dry again before attaching it to the main instrument.

4.2.4

Equivalent factor shall be determined daily before use, as per laid down procedure.

4.2.5

 

 

4.3

A homogenous reagent shall be prepared as described, clean the dispenser nozzle from outside and place it in the mother bottle reagent. Select manual tab and select prepare followed by start. Instrument automatically performs cycle of pipetting and dispensing, by this way the entire line and solution shall made homogenous.
